My First Day in Lockdown

My First Day In Lockdown
by Tara

On the first day in lock down we didn’t really do much. First Tess made everyone waffles for breakfast which doesn’t happen very often and then after getting some of my homework done we watched the movie interstellar and that kind of confusing because it was all about time travel where people go up in space all the way out of our solar system.

After that Tess and I went out to feed the horses. That meant we had to first get the baleage from the shed up the hill with the wheelbarrow and select a reasonable amount for each horse before going down the hill putting Fizz, Skippy and Salty’s in a hay bag leaving Cricket’s in the wheelbarrow so we could wheel it over to the opposite side of the property where Cricket was in his paddock.

Then we had to go all the way back again with the now empty wheelbarrow dropping it off before grabbing the bag which was extremely hard to carry not only because it was heavy but because of the muddy and uneven horse tracks that made us slip and slide down the hillside. Then we had arrived at the gate of Salty's paddock and emptied her lot into the barrel. The bag was much easier to carry then because without  Salty's greedy mouthful it was really light and from here on the land was much more of a gentle hillside then a muddy slope.

After that we only had Skippy and Fizz to do and apart from Tess having to fix the fence it was smooth sailing. Originally we were going to give the horses a break day from riding but at around three or four the sun actually came out. So after riding the horses along the verge of the main road since there were no cars because the bridge was shut, we fed the ponies their hard feeds gave them some more baleage and headed indoors because once again it was starting to rain.
