The Story Of Shirley And Her Car

It was just an ordinary day when Shirley drove to school. Little did she know her life was about to change forever- or should I say it would change her cars life forever. Anyway there Shirley was, driving her old 2004 manual Mazda 6 station wagon to school. A bridge was near and a group of birds were gathered there. Shirley beeped and luckily the birds flew away just in time but the man behind her thought she was beeping at him and bounced against Shirley's car. Breaking the barrier of the bridge Shirley and her car flopped into the lake. Thankfully Shirley is a really good swimmer so holding her breath for the one hour it took for the crane and the tow truck to arrive wasn't a problem - not. In the end Shirley did make it to school, she was eight hours late though. So instead of going to an empty office Shirley went to get lunch even though by then it was 9 P.M.

  1. Those pesky birds! :)
Thank you for your take on events, Tara. I'll be sure never to mix road rage, flocks of birds and bridges!
In real life, I did have someone bump into the back of my car once. We were in slow moving traffic and he was too busy on his phone to see that I'd stopped. He was very apologetic and the funny thing was that he'd just bounced off my tow bar, so there was no damage to my old car. His fancy, new Mercedes Benz got a little dent as a reminder to not text and drive!

I'm glad I'm a good swimmer in your story - not sure if I could ever wait until 9pm for lunch though!
